WHAT THE MISSION PROJECT IS:
IT IS...A place for the Independent Baptist pastor and his family to get out from under the stress, without one having to reach into his wallet!
An answer to our critics who accuse us of being the only religious group who "shoot our wounded"!
IT IS...A collective effort on the part of independent Baptists to reduce the current trend of the 10% drop-out rate per year in our ranks!
IT IS...An alternative for those 7 our of 10 Independent Baptist pastors surveyed, who never get their precious wives out from under the pressure of the ministry, because of financial reasons!
WHAT THE MISSION PROJECT IS NOT:
IT IS NOT...A parachurch ministry owned by an individual, but rather an arm of a local Independent Baptist church like yours!
IT IS NOT...An ecumenical endeavor to meet the needs of all clergy, but rather a biblical based mission project to minister to Baptist pastors who meet the doctrinal criteria outlined!
IT IS NOT...A series of lectures or seminars for the pastor and his wife, but rather a place to hang your hat while touring the great Smoky Mountains or relaxing in our facilities!
IT IS NOT...A ministry seeking your financial aid, but not willing to give accountability for expenditures! We have set up 5 financial "safety nets" to assure all individuals and churches participating, that they are being good stewards of God's abundant grace!
OUR FIVE BASIC PROGRAMS OF SUPPORT
1. "PHILIPPI CHURCHES"
Major contributions ($1,000 and over) made by those churches who see beyond "their own Field," to help the survival of other churches of like faith - Philippians 4:10-19.
2. "SHUNEMMITES"
Major contributions ($1,000 and over) from lay people who help in our building program for God's men, as did the great woman of Shunem - II Kings 4:8-37.
3. "HAVEN HOSTS"
Those churches (or individuals) who take this mission project on with regular monthly support.
4. "HAVEN RAVENS"
Contributions from the raven coin banks, to offset grocery expenses incurred through providing 3 meals a day, 365 days a year - 1 Kings 17:1-7.
5. "HAVEN HELPERS"
Log house coin banks, and other periodic contributions from individuals, helping toward general operating expenses and needed purchases.

FREE RETREAT 4 PASTORS
I added this page as a help to the General's in our Army,
Our Independent, KJV Preaching, Baptist Preachers. I am not affiliated with this ministry, but do support it's ideas, concepts, and standards! It could use your monthly support, there is not a more needful mission today!
I contacted Bro. Creel this year and he said:
"Ministered last fiscal year on 84 occasions to 275 people!
Could do more if we had more supporting churches.

WHO MAY USE THE FACILITIES
Common fundamental denominators will be outlined and made clear to all who are asked to support the ministry, or who will be qualified to use the ministry. It is not for every Baptist, but rather for those who are holding true to traditional Biblical Baptist distinctives. I have no personal desire to see error survive, nor do Christians giving to such an institution wish to contribute financially to the demise of the Baptist faith! We wish to make it clear that the "ever-changing" Baptist is not what The Desert Place Haven of Rest is designed for! Every brother who stays at this sanctuary can feel comfortable that he is fellowshipping with other brethren of like faith.
The Haven is a product of, and ministry for, the survival of traditional Baptist distinctives! We ask that no pastor attempt its use, nor any church pledge its financial support, unless the following critieria is met:
Acceptance of only the King James Bible, for ministry and practice in our faith today.
No sympathy to, nor interaction with today's charismatic movement. We want no pastors or churches who practice the phenomenon of "speaking in tongues."
We wish to avoid anyone who embraces 5 point Calvinism. Whether they hold such titles as "Sovereign Grace" churches/pastors, or any other name which equates to "some are just born for Heaven, and some for Hell" - we wish not to associate ourselves with such doctrine!
No church/pastor who holds the views of Armenianism in relationship to the doctrine of salvation will be asked into our midst. This includes any organization/person who feels that a Christian can lose his or her salvation!
Those who land on the wrong side of the "Liberty" doctrine coin, are asked to not attempt to take part in this ministry; more specifically, those who shun "standards" and advocate a "Liberty to sin" and not our "Liberty from sin." As brethren, we may not agree on all standards, as long as we agree that God has a set standard of holiness, in the life of a believer. Since we will insist on many standards to be kept while staying at the Haven, the "no standards" crowd will not feel at home with us!
