WHAT THE MISSION PROJECT IS:
IT IS...A place for the Independent Baptist pastor and his family to get out from under the stress, without one having to reach into his wallet!
An answer to our critics who accuse us of being the only religious group who "shoot our wounded"!
IT IS...A collective effort on the part of independent Baptists to reduce the current trend of the 10% drop-out rate per year in our ranks!
IT IS...An alternative for those 7 our of 10 Independent Baptist pastors surveyed, who never get their precious wives out from under the pressure of the ministry, because of financial reasons!
WHAT THE MISSION PROJECT IS NOT:
IT IS NOT...A parachurch ministry owned by an individual, but rather an arm of a local Independent Baptist church like yours!
IT IS NOT...An ecumenical endeavor to meet the needs of all clergy, but rather a biblical based mission project to minister to Baptist pastors who meet the doctrinal criteria outlined!
IT IS NOT...A series of lectures or seminars for the pastor and his wife, but rather a place to hang your hat while touring the great Smoky Mountains or relaxing in our facilities!
IT IS NOT...A ministry seeking your financial aid, but not willing to give accountability for expenditures!  We have set up 5 financial "safety nets" to assure all individuals and churches participating, that they are being good stewards of God's abundant grace!
OUR FIVE BASIC PROGRAMS OF SUPPORT
1. "PHILIPPI CHURCHES"
Major contributions ($1,000 and over) made by those churches who see beyond "their own Field," to help the survival of other churches of like faith - Philippians 4:10-19.
2. "SHUNEMMITES"
Major contributions ($1,000 and over) from lay people who help in our building program for God's men, as did the great woman of Shunem - II Kings 4:8-37.
3. "HAVEN HOSTS"
Those churches (or individuals) who take this mission project on with regular monthly support.
4. "HAVEN RAVENS"
Contributions from the raven coin banks, to offset grocery expenses incurred through providing 3 meals a day, 365 days a year - 1 Kings 17:1-7.
5. "HAVEN HELPERS"
Log house coin banks, and other periodic contributions from individuals, helping toward general operating expenses and needed purchases.
